telemic lights
Distorted through filters and optics, Telemic Lights are photographic images created by the planned movement of the camera in order to capture sources of light within the darkness. The trails of coloured light from star, moon, street and traffic eminate from beyond my spacial awareness, represented by the blank white borders. The lights enter the moving lens and are caught within the ambiguous and random framework of the moment.
The Telemic light process was designed to explore the ethereal dimension of spontaneous bursts of light from uncontrolled sources. The destortion of the light by movement and filters is a metaphor for the manipulation of our perception, (Light) by the information given to us from control sources, (Filters).
The results are often suprising.
Telemic lights are original photographs mounted onto plexiglass.
For exhibition purposes, they are supported by high tensile wire fixed to the floor and ceiling. They are backlit with wall mounted lamps. Imposing in size and with beautiful abstract details, these dynamic pieces glow and fill the environment with their soft aura.
